It's been more than a month since I've posted anything here... Have been busy and also lazy to post the photos I have... So I guess this is to round things up since it's gonna be Chinese New Year soon... it's gonna be the official new year in the chinese lunar calendar.

Christmas last year was rather uneventful as I did a turn around on Christmas day itself and went to Frankfurt the next day. New Year was spent with my batch mates in Singapore...

Something memorable in December last year was when reporting for my flight I found out that my fleet trainer Ms Shirley Wong had passed on the morning before... went for my flight with a heavy heart. Ms Wong was dearly loved by everyone in my batch during training... We'll always remember her for the time we spent with her during our training. Her funeral made the Sunday Times as her last wish was to have her family and friends who attend her wake to come in PINK, yes PINK! I wish I could have gone for her funeral but I was away on flight...

January started with doing a flight with the longest flight time I've ever done; 18 plus hours... Singapore to Lahore to Karachi to Bangkok with an hour to an hour and a half transit time in between all stations. Due to the political unrest in Pakistan we were advised not to night stop there therefore we had to work all the way till we reach Bangkok. Unbelievable but we made it and also it was my first time to Bangkok! Hahaha... I've never ever thought of Bangkok as a holiday destination therefore it was my first time there and due to the unusual flight pattern we had 2 days and nights there... Bangkok really is not my cup of tea, dun think I'll ever go back there anytime soon for holiday.

Went for a 9 days reservist after that which was as usual, a whole load of time wasting and doing nonsensical stuff... Immediately after my reservist Chris and I went for our annual getaway for 8 days. initially we wanted to go to Hawaii but realised we need a longer leave if we wanna go there and really enjoy ourselves. Next was Hokkaido but there's wasn't any departures on the day we wanted. In the end we settled for Jiu Zhai Gou in Szechuan China. It was a relaxing trip and the scenic tours were well worth the journey there... However it was also freezing cold and for the first time I had on thermal wear with another 5 layers of clothes, 3 socks and 2 gloves and I still feel cold! the highlights of the trip was the scenic Jiu Zhai Gou and the hotel we stayed in there... Paradise Hotel Jiu Zhai Gou under Intercontinental Hotel Group. Another was when we went to Sun City Dead Sea Resort... photos of this trip will be posted later...

After I came back from my holiday I was activated for my standby on the very next day for London. I get London flights once in a blue moon and to be activated for that flight on standby came as a surprise to me. Anyway I dun mind as I can spend my time there watching musicals at Westend. This time round I managed to catch 2 musicals; Wicked and Grease.

This new musical tells the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz... How the White and the Wicked Witches came about... this was their story... The musical also tells how the Tinman, the Scarecrow and the Timid Lion came about. The stage, the props and the entire set up was beautiful.. The performance deserved the standing ovation it received when it was over... Paid 38 pounds for the 60 pounds seat at the half price ticket stalls in Leichester Square.

Grease was a chirpy song and dance show... Most would probably remember the original movie by John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. I guess most wouldn't know that the original London cast for the musical version had Richard Gere as the lead character Danny. Songs like Sandy, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Summer Nights and Grease are tunes we can recognize anywhere we go... Paid only 29 pounds for the 55 pounds seat at Half price ticket stall....
