while i was at mass i had a huge revelation. i guess u could call it a sign from god...
i found myself staring at the floor most of mass. 2 reasons why 1)mass is fucking boring and 2) i was mesmerized by the ants crawling on the floor. thats when i realized that we are just like those ants. we are just like them in two ways...
the first is that the ants represent us going through life. we start on a plank, in the light, in the happiness, in the grace even. but sometimes we fall into gaps between the planks. when we fall there are 3 things that can happen:
1)a pine needle can fall and we can have several ways to get across the gap very easily. for example, a guy can get broken up w/ and besad 4 a bit then realize like 6 other girls like him, so he takes time deciding which one and becomes happy again very fast.
2)sometimes we can go very far into the crack, where its cold and lonely. we cant go back up and there is no way across but jumping. jumping takes courage but the jump will get yo out of the crack. for example, the guy can get broken up w/ but noone likes him. although it may take time, he might gain the courage 2 ask another girl out, if she says yes then the jump is a sucess, but sometimes you miss too and fall deeper.
3)sometimes when we fall deeper or the crack is too big to jump. at that point you have to be patient for someday a blessed leaf will fall giving you a way across and back up. there is no example for this but a good friend or teacher pulling you out of the hole your in. and sometimes you are too blind to see the leaf but once you do see it, whatever makes you see it, you can cross.
then you climb back up back into the light, the happiness, the grace. it goes like this throughout life. that is how ups and downs go...
the second way is our school careeer. we start school with a clean plate, on a plank. but some very quickly find a crack. many of us have a good preschool life but all the sudden u graduate from that and u fall into the crack of uncertanty of whats next. then you climb out to find yourself in first grade. you brush off and move on but just like that, its middle school. another uncertain crevace. and same from middle to high school. now we are all just high schoolers running around in circles on our plank of high school. we are all about 2 cross the biggest crack. the high school to college crack. from here on out nothing will ever be the same. high school is over for me, and the crack is right in front of me. all you can do is take the leap and pray for the best...
Remembering, everything,
about my world and when you came.
Wondering, the change you’d bring,
means nothing else would be the same.
Did you know, what you were doing, did you know.
Did you know how you would move me well,
I don’t really think so.
but the night came down and swept us away.
and the stars they seemed,
to paint the most elaborate scene to date.
How could we know? that song, this show,
we'd learn so much about ourselves.
From Toledo, to Tokyo,
the words were scribed on every page,
and now there’s books up on our shelves.
Did you know how you would move us, did you know?
When the lights first came upon us,
and we saw The Everglow.
and the moment's magic swept us away.
and the young mans dream was almost seen so plain.
When was the night
that showed us the sign?
Revealed in the sky, to leave all behind.
But where to begin? throwing caution to the wind,
We reached for the stars, everything was now ours.
Did you know how you would move me, did you know?
Did you know how you would move me?
well, I don’t even think so.
but the moment's magic swept us away.
and it’s so close, but we’re so far away.
It’s so close, but we’re so far away...
i say to all of you that have a year, two, three left, make the best of them. dont try 2 cram you entire high school life into one month or one year. you may be running in circles but make all of those circles count because before you know it, high school is over. what you do when you get to the crack is up to you. thats the best advice i can give...
