I don't know how well this link is going to translate, but here goes:
Deal of the Day at Amazon today
In case the link doesn't pop correctly, go to Amazon.com and look at the Today's Deals for today. It's the Philips DCP951/37
It's a Phillips portable DVD player with an iPod dock and - more valuable to me - an card slot for watching downloaded tv shows from an SD card. To me, at $99 it looks like a great deal with that kind of flexibility. It's got good stars, but some of the reviews are pretty negative concerning quality and real-life capability of the unit. On the other hand several reviewers, who seem much more technically capable than the average, weigh in saying you just have to know your file type compatibilities.
Other complaints assess the low volume of the speakers, the inability to see it well from a side angle and the fact that the remote control doesn't work from more than a couple of feet away. To those I say, "well DUH".
Would YOU buy this if you were in the market for such an item?
