Usually, as far as films go, I enjoy things that have car chases, explosions and/or make me laugh every now and again. The film that I am going to lightly touch base on is called
Mr and Mrs Smith (2005), and included all of the aforementioned. Perhaps you have seen it. (Shut up. I am just catching up on what I've missed.)
This action thriller combined the sexiness of Brad Pitt (though, admittedly, he's not my taste) and Angelina Jolie. I was expecting some cutesy half-assed American bit. This one surprised me.
The first half-hour or so is kind of boring, but somewhat important to the storyline - a married couple who are so used to a certain routine, the romance has all but fizzled out of their relationship. All it takes is finding out what John (Pitt) and Jane (Jolie) really do for a living, and the movie starts to wake you up.
It's not only a Spy vs Spy show. It is also a good example of how nothing is impossible, and that sometimes two heads are better than one. It completely destroyed several of my assumptions going into the opening credits, and had me wondering how the characters developed after the film's end. This is one I intend to own on digital video disc.
