(no subject)
Ok, so maybe I've gotten too used to being busy and now that I find myself with nothing to do I am at a loss. I've discovered a sick fascination with watching EWTN (the catholic channel). I'm a fairly staunch atheist, so I really don't buy into any of this stuff, but on an intellectual level it's really quite intriguing. I like to switch from Jerry Springer to the Angel Force Cadets (Bwahahahah...! ::wipes eyes::) and see just how far to the opposite side of the spectrum that humanity can swing. It 'effen' surreal. I sit and watch little kids be prompted from que cards to ask if their little heathen Methodist friend will go to hell and be told..."Yeah, probably, so don't get too attached." and then watch a 30-year-old mother jump on stage and beat the crap out of her 16-year-old cross-dressing son and I'm just spellbound by the whole scenario. Having time off during the day has really given me a chance to study how incredibly complex humanity is.
I find it funny that I'm so interested in religion when I don't believe in any of it, but I guess it does give me a chance to study human behavior. It's great fodder for writing at any rate.
