- I never did watch "Fight Club" that night... I calmed down and spent some time with
Gwynne instead, which was very nice.
- It was great to see certain friends the last few days... you know who you are.
- Speaking of friends, I know one of them is directing a play that will be on from the 7th through the 23rd of August called Pride & Succubus. Think Jane Austen meets Buffy. It's a Thunderbird production, so you know it'll be good... they haven't let me down yet!
- On behalf of inked_books, I'd like to thank
Ashley for coming to the meetings she had and good luck with her move and new life. She'll be missed.
- I enjoyed reading The Army Of The Republic by Stuart Archer Cohen, due in bookstores (including mine) on 2 September. It's a great novel about how things would be if corporations controlled the government and if some people fought back against the resulting regime. Highly recommended.
- I enjoyed "Hellboy 2", probably even more than the first one.
- I got my ticket for the 12:10 AM Thursday night/Friday morning showing of "The Dark Knight" at the San Mateo theatre. So far Ill be line bitch for
Carl and myself, seeing as I have the day off anyway... though I plan to watch "Batman Begins" before leaving the house for the theatre.
- I like the free EP Bremelanotide by nerdcore musicians The Grammar Club. Their cover of Jonathan Coulton's Code Monkey is good, but some of their other stuff is even better. Mad props, yo.
- And last, but certainly not least... you need to watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the brainchild of Joss Whedon. I quote: "The story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to. Featuring Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer, Felicia Day as Penny and a cast of dozens." After watching the first act, be sure to read the webcomic that features Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible. Go. Now!
