I was at work. I am the toddler teacher at a private preschool and heard about the attacks from one of the parents as they were dropping off their kids. One of my coworkers' sisters worked at the WTC and the poor girl spent the entire day not knowing what had happened to her sister (Turned out she had gotten sick and called in that day, thank God.) A few teachers turned on the radios in their rooms, but I didn't. My job is to take care of my babies and if I am upset they don't understand why, but they get upset and scared too and I refused to put them through that. I saw what things like that did to my first group of kids when Columbine happened and the teachers turned on the news and made my elementary school kids watch. The world is ugly enough when you can understand WHAT is happening (never understand WHY it happens, but at least you understand WHAT)
