so ... this is why Life is good

Turns out...I met a man who is really great. I was not exactly planning on it, but I have decided to just go with it. He is patient and kind, and I have thoroughly explained that I am not wanting to rush into anything since I am just coming out of a two year relationship. Eli and I parted well, and we both have complete closure on the whole thing. He is and always will be one of my closest friends and that means more to me than I can express.

His name is Matt, he is 27 and has a full-time job as a web-designer and photographer. We have a lot in common and have great conversations. We met last week after talking for several days and the meeting went off without a hitch. I don't know...I mean, things have just progressed so nicely and we are both just willing to see what comes of it. No pressure, but it sure is fun! Unexpected, exciting, and all kinds of things at once actually.

Other than that, school is going well. I am in the cast of "West Side Story" and I get to sing and dance!! That is all I wanted to do when I auditioned, so I am glad for the opportunity. West Side is the short term class I am taking, so we will have lots of time to practice and get comfortable with our characters, dance moves, and songs. Most of my friends are in the show as well, so that makes for a good time for all involved.

I went to NYC for New Year's with some friends and we had a great time! New Year's Eve was pretty insane, but the New Year's Day was great. We saw Rockefeller Center, NBC studios, and bought I (heart) NY shirts. We were the quintessential tourists. It was great. The ride home was a bit traumatic...we ended up taking a detour to avoid snow and ended up adding 11 hours to the trip. We also had three flat tires, one power console malfunction, and lots of snow. Not to mention, we were traveling with a group of 8 so we had to take a lot of pee breaks. Turns out bladders don't sync up to well.

Christmas break was great!! I got to spend a lot of time with my friends and family and that was a blessing. There is something about being at my Grandma's on Christmas Eve that makes everything seem right with the world. It was wonderful.

So, Matt is coming to see me in a little while, so hopefully that will be a fun.

I hope to update more often...
