Well...I wish I could say "all is well" but as my nose and throat have decided to lead a revolt against me, it would not be true to say so. Alas, I CAN say that I feel "meh". I am in a great mood and personal things are going well, but the feeling sick part is dominating the majority of my five senses at the moment and eclipsing everything else.
Let's see. Classes are going well for the most part. I HATE my Shakespeare class still, but the professor is probably one of the funniest I have ever had. He has such a dry sense of humor, it is hilarious. Now, if only his quizzes and papers were not so difficult. Grumble. Grr. If I pull an 80% or higher on in Math, I am exempt from the final. Here is hopin!! So far I have kept around that percentage, so if that continues, all will be well. Directing is interesting and very trying at the same time. There is always some new hurdle to overcome with directing it seems. My actors are GREAT, and it doesn't hurt that the two guys are also quite easy on the eyes. They show up, listen and take direction very well. SO in that respect it is amazing, but as far as my own confidence level...not so much. Nina sat in on one of my rehearsals and said I am doing a great job, and she would tell me if I was not (in a friendly, constructive way). Maybe directing just isn't my "thing", but it is stretching me so much - which is good in the big scheme of things, but bad in the instant "Brandie no likey" realm. Hopefully, when my show happens and they do wonderfully and I receive accolades and job offers, I will feel differently. ha. ha. ha. Ever the optimist I am!
Julius Caesar is coming along pretty well. It gets kind of stressful at this point in the show process, so we are all trying to push through until opening night. I am sure it will be fine, but the whole cast is just ready to take a long nap and not rehearse any more. We open in less than two weeks, and I am sure it will be great. It is just exhausting.
APO had a costume sale this past Saturday and it went quite well. We made some good money and got out of debt so now we can host actual events instead of just doing fund-raisers all the time.
I will be in Hamilton for Christmas Break and all of January. I am looking forward to it! I haven't been home for any significant amount of time since coming to college. It helps now that my parents are back there.
Well, I have to read some Willy Shakes. Catch ya later.
