As I was saying...or typing. Shut up, you know what I mean.

While in Chicago we also went to the Art Institute of Chicago (that was redundant). It was simply fantastic. Rene Magritte is officially my new favorite artist. Google Image him...you really should. I also saw original Picasso's, Monet's, Manet's, and lots of other important names that escape me at the moment. I liked it super a lot.

We saw two shows as well, "Pillowman" and "Argonautika". I don't feel like going into detail about either of them, but I will offer short synopses:

Pillowman: Hauting, disturbing, amusing at times, and intriguing. I left not entirely sure how to feel...I am still working on that actually.

Argonauika: AMAZING! And, the chick who played Athena gave me a boner. I didn't know it was possible, but I assure you...I had wood.

It was also great times hanging out with my theatre buddies. I felt fortunate to have even gotten to go. It was so last minute, but I am glad it worked out the way it did. I also tried Thai food for the first time ever. I forget what I ordered...but it was yum. That reminds me!!!

FUNNY STORY:

We went to the Thai restaurant called "My Thai" (cute, I know). I noticed they had crab rangoon, which I adore, so I ordered it. The catch was...it was not labeled as crab rangoon on the menu. It was labeled as "POO THONG". So, instantly I am imagining scarce underwear covered in fecal matter. (sorry to be crude, but that is where my mind went). I decided to bite the proverbial bullet, if you will, and just order it as it read. Long story short...the "TH" sound in Thai makes just a "T" sound, so it was unneccessary to get all worked up in the first place. I figured this out when I order the "POO THONG" and the server said "POO TONG?" I felt silly. Then when she brought it out she said "CRAB RANGOON?". Sheesh. I am sure it was a much bigger deal in my head than this story implies, but thank you for taking the trip with me, nonetheless.

Eli is a sweetie! Not that I haven't said this a thousand times before, but he is!! We were in the cafe today, and he checked our CPOs for us...he brought our mail upstairs and I had a small package. I never order anything, so I was way confused. Turns out he had ordered me the new Dixie Chicks album as a surprise and had it delivered to my CPO!! It was too cute, I squealed and jumped up and down like a kid without their Ritalin. I made quite a little scene in the cafe, I am sure, but it was soo nice of him to do that. It has "Easy Silence" on it...our song. *blush* I am a lucky gal, there is no denying that.

I must say it was WONDERFUL not to have to go to statistics yesterday. I had a two hour break and it was magnificent. I think the teacher may be upset, but that is alright. It happens. It was nothing personal against her, that was just the wrong class for me. I am going to sign up for Environmental Issues with Math Modeling next semester and it will fill my quantitative reasoning requirement. The prof assured me a spot, so that is happy. I also hope to take a comm class, theatre class, and Understandings of Christianity which is required. Eli is in it this semester, and I run sound for Monday class where all the classes combine, and I don't think they have really talked much about Christianity. They have different people come in and talk to them about different aspects of Christianity and how it is okay to like Christians...really. It is all too PC for me. They try to accomodate everyone, which is fine to a degree, but they talk 'around' everything and never really make any points about anything. It is frustrating, but I think I will do well in there...hopefully.

I do believe I have sufficiently blogged for today.
