i'm back on the interwebz!

hello all -

i know how much everyone has missed me in cyberworld (yeah right)... it's been forever since i've posted mainly because my old computer sucked the big one and it was too much effort to open all the windows to actually create a post... the headache of waiting for it to try to start and then load pages and then crash and have to start again, etc was just too much. hopefully i'll be around more now since the internet is super duper easy again (as it should be)...

right now i write to you all from my amazing shiny wonderful brandy-new macbook!

this computer is absolutely amazing so far. i LOVE os x. so cool, so much fun to use. big improvement since the last time i used a mac (back in the stone age - like 2001ish, think first gen blueberry colored ibook). i'm still figuring out how to use everything right now... ahh, new toys are so fun :) i think tonight i spent the longest period of time using a computer for leisure without the internet than i ever have since, oh like, before the internet was invented!

as for what i've been keeping busy with: working a lot of hours as a tech - i'm doing both days at kim's clinic and weekend overnights at the local e-clinic. i wasn't sure how i'd like doing emergency at first, but over eight months later i'm still loving it... it is so much different than day practice - i love the responsibility, i love not knowing what will walk in the door next, i love the adrenaline that pumps through your veins when a bloat and a dystocia both walk through the door at 4am and there is only one doctor on!

mercury is also doing really well - he's still training... he does obedience on wed and thurs nights right now. he's had a couple sessions of agility and this friday will be his first private with a new agility trainer, very excited. i'd like to do more agility with him since he loves it so much, so hopefully we like this trainer! he showed a bit earlier this spring... he finished his Rally Advanced (RA) title and also got the first leg of his novice obedience (CD) title with a very nice score and a second place in his class (rah was first of course)... who would have ever guessed! hopefully we can show some more in the fall and finish his CD. i never thought he'd be capable of working toward a CDX, but my trainers seem to think we can do it, so we'll just keep training and see what happens :)

my cats are the same annoying pains-in-the-ass they've always been... toke has thankfully not been FLUTD in awhile (knock on wood). kiwi has been hospitalized twice recently - the first time for eating tyler's rimadyl and the second time for ripping a nice chunk of skin off her foot... she is now healing up and doesn't seem any worse for the wear.

i guess thats about it for tonight. yay for new computer! yay for getting back on the internet! now off to see what else i've missing in the past, oh, couple years! haha
