Updating from work. My standards for productivity have fallen through the floor... I'm generally anti-LJ at work. Oh well. I'm still anti-Fark at work, so at least I've still got some scruples left.
Anyway. Three upcoming events that I'm planning to take part in:
The
Red Shoe Run for Donor Awareness on April 14th (pledge-based; pledges underwrite *free!* enrollment in the
National Marrow Donor Program, which usually costs $50+ to join); 5k
The aforementioned
Crazylegs Classic on April 28th; 8k
A
trail run in Durango, IA on May 12th; 10k
The general idea here is to get up to a comfortable 10k by the time I head back to Austin. This progress will immediately be rendered pointless by 1) spending eight lovely sedentary days on a boat and 2) moving to Austin in the summer, when lows are often in the mid-eighties and the humidity is ridiculous. Ick. Well, at least I'll be in shape for a little while.
On the bright side, I'm already running a pretty comfy 5k. Starting next Monday, I'll have to scale back to match my new running partner, who's probably still only doing about 2k.
