Things you probably know about me

Dec 15, 2009 14:46

As subnivean posted: You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their lives, and all of a sudden you think, "Wait a minute? Since when has she been working THERE? Since when has he been dating HER? Since when?!" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information? But somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy, paste, re-answer and re-post. Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-word answers won't help anybody.

FIRST NAME
Jessica AKA “Jess”

AGE
27.5

LOCATION
Toronto, ON, Canada since August 2004

OCCUPATION
Bilingual Team Leader, Quality Control. I asked to have this title officially changed to “Bilingual” about a month ago. I didn’t tell my boss it’s because I want my resume to look its best when I send it out hoping to finally free myself of this idiot prom-queen dropout factory.

PARTNER?
(Corinne, I absolutely love what you posted under this section!) His name is James. He is the best boyfriend I have ever had. I’m giddy, warm and fuzzy just thinking about that. We’ve been “official” since October 1, 2009. We met on okcupid and dated casually until that time. I told him in late September (at Harvest Fest, wheee!) that I had decided to see only him and he very soon reciprocated that decision. He calls me “Baby” and it’s sweet. :D

KIDS
I have a one-year-old nephew in BC and a 13-year-old “little friend” through Youth Assisting Youth. Thus far, I am vehement that I will never create and incubate any children of my own.

BROTHERS/SISTERS
One sister in BC. We don’t talk much, but ironically, we’ve been closer since we both moved out of our parents’ home. I miss her lots most of the time.

PETS
Serendipity - Kitty
William Arty The First - Kitty
Lancelot Crow - Bunny
Cheep - Hamster
Blinken - Goldfish
Nod - Goldfish
Miss Kiss - Beta fish

LIST THE 3 BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE
1. My social life is pitiful and I can’t seem to improve it.

2. I have a nephew.

3. I bid “good riddance to bad rubbish” to 2008 and vowed to have more fun in 2009. This has been a very successful venture, overall. I also experienced some significant changes in my perspective and I have been happy more frequently and in ways I didn’t realize I could be.

PARENTS
My parents recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. They are great parents. I love them dearly. They drive me crazy.

CLOSEST FRIENDS
My closest friends live in Ontario and that’s one of the big reasons why I don’t move closer to either part of my family, on each coast. Friends are much harder to find than family members who will, inevitably, drive me crazy. I also have good friends in some maritime provinces. This year, I dropped many of the dead-weight “friends” I ran with, bored and ostracized nonetheless. While this has significantly diminished my social life, it has increased my energy levels and brain processes beyond what I then thought possible.
