Coming up to breathe

It's not easy to update over here. Work has been busier than ever, and it looks like things will only be getting busier. That's a good thing, don't get me wrong. Revenue - It's a Good Thing (tm). Editing has also been fast and furious. I've had a job to do every day this month, and they keep on coming. Again, it's a good thing, my invoice is bulging already.

The downside is the ache in my fingers. They miss my knitting and I've been feeling very antsy about getting my fabric, freezer paper, and mom's printer in action to move forward on Weejun #3's quilt and the Jane Austin quilt I'm going to make for me and Jeff. You know my urge to craft is bad when I want to HANDSEW a quilt, and that's where I am. I've handsewn one block - a few months ago - and I'm dying to do it again.

Samuel has decided he wants to be a "cookerman", so I took him to the Parent-Teacher store to buy a food set. He chose the Melissa and Doug's vegetable cutting set, and has been slicing bread, tomatoes, apples and watermelon almost non-stop since we brought it home. He'd been showing all the signs of wanting to be a weatherman too, but when I showed the weather charts to him, he cried. He's also very good with a stethoscope, so it's time to find a good doctor's kit. My old Fisher Price kit had a working stethoscope, but I don't think they Make Them Like That Anymore (get off my lawn!).

Dixon's vocabulary is finally picking up steam, and he's just the sweetest, most loving little person on the planet.

Here they are, captured when Samuel handed his camera to me and demanded I take a photo of him and his brother. The photo perfectly captures their personalities.
