One to start the day with
I was awoken by the sound of heavy rain hitting against the window. For some reason the first thing that popped into my mind was that i should probably wear a cardi to the office coz' it would be cold. All of a sudden, the image of the kitchen windows wide open flashed into my mind. I had debated whether to close it or not last night as it was quite a warm night but decided against it since the rain doesn't really get in even if i leave it open.
I got up anyway to go close it. As i walked towards the kitchen, i felt droplets of water under my feet. The sound of rain got louder as i approached the living room. The LR windows were WIDE OPEN! DIE!! I scrambled as fast as i could without falling, to close the windows there first, only to step into puddles of water. Walked back to the kitchen to close those windows and grabbed as many rags as i could then started mopping the puddles dry. 5 seconds later, i knew i couldn't do this alone so i woke chris up even tho' he wasn't feeling well.
Operation Save-the-Laminate was on. We mopped and dried it to as best as we could. Our sofa and walls were wet too. Turned the air-con on and put as many dehumidifiers as we could around the house. We then put the rags to wash seeing how it was 4.45am when we were halfway through our mission and we had to be up in an hour's anyway.
That was quite a lot of drama for a morning! We found alot of fun and joy in all that though, and now more than ever in the last week, our floor is super clean!
