paycheck!!
I got my first paycheck today! My first paycheck from a real, full-time job. Eep! I'm so excited. Also, holy crap they take out a lot of taxes. Jeez.
I've been shockingly productive today. I went to the bank and CVS, then came home and helped my mom put up our hammock, then we figured out the lighting system in the backyard, then I had lunch with my brother, then I drove to the beach because it's so nice out, then I got my car washed, then I went to the book store and bought a bunch of books for my train ride. And it's only 6 o'clock. Damn, I'm good!
I'm really excited about my new books. Hopefully, they'll all be good. Look for reviews in the next few weeks. :-) In the meantime, How We Are Hungry by Dave Eggers is really good. I've recently fallen in love with collections of short stories. I think maybe I'm getting a little more ADHD as I age or something, but I love having a bunch of dfferent stories in one book. Not to mention Dave Eggers is amazing. Unfortunately Gina and I have recently discovered that he is married and has a kid. Of course, the whole him living in San Francisco thing is also somewhat of an impediment to the relationship. You know, that's where Nathanson lives too. Maybe I should move there and be both of their mistresses. Yes, brilliant! *does hand motion*
Our pool is open! The cover is off and everything, so now it's being cleaned and treated with chemicals and all that jazz... should be swimable in about 2 weeks. Yay! Plus, it's heated, so we don't even have to wait for it to be 90 degrees out. My mom and I laid out in the chairs by the pool today to prepare ourselves for the summer. haha
