God Is On The TV

I'm writing this with less than an hour to go until Charlie Brooker has his first airing of 'Gameswipe' over on BBC4. Even though he's made his name as a TV critic and columnist for The Guardian newspaper Brooker started out reviewing games for PC Zone so this is a little like him returning to his roots. It could also be one of the very few examples of video games being 'done' properly on a TV show.  If you miss it and you're in the UK then it'll obviously be on BBC iplayer for the next week so catch up on it then. Those of you outside the UK will probably have to rely on some cheeky scamp uploading it to Youtube or something.

It's got me thinking about TV's relationship with video games in general. I'll probably try and get an article done soon on that subject, heavy on the old video clips too if I can. An advanced warning though, it may contain high levels of Andy Crane.
