why
IN THE DARK
He looks at the clock.
10:15 pm.
He looks outside at the darkness.
It’s time.
Jongup’s outfit is already spread out on his bed, ready for him. He changes into it as quickly as he can and rushes out to meet the target. He’s not a bad guy, no, but who he’s aiming for is. As he ducks behind crates while following the culprit close behind, he watches his step to make sure he keeps quiet. He watches from his hidden spot, in the dark, the man sit down on a chair provided by some other man with thick eyebrows. He wasn’t prepared for the other guys to be there and figuring out they were just as bad as his targeted man, he would have to take them all out.
He waits for a few more minutes and when the men made moves by taking out suitcases and exchanging them, his guess was proven right. They were all bad. In the next moment, he takes out the shurikens provided and aims for the source of light. The surprise of the blackness made the men paranoid and before they made any moves to run, Jongup got in the middle of them all, on the table. By taking his knife out, he assassinates the four men there.
He finishes by jumping off the table with no sound at all and makes his way back home. In the dark.

2) JONGUP-THE-LOKI
With Kai being his girlfriend, Jongup knew what she liked and what she didn’t like. He felt it was time to do something nice for her for once so when Kai left for work one night, he immediately took actions.
He cleaned up their shared apartment. He made sure he dusted every countertop or flat surface. He even rearranged their books in alphabetical order, just to be safe. They had a cat, so he had a lint remover and ran it over their couch. He set up candles on their mantle and prepared dinner. He bought a new tablecloth that was dark green because that’s what Kai would like. He put on fancy music then dimmed the lights. When he was finished running around, he looked at the clock and ran to change his clothes because Kai was going to be home soon.
When he heard the door close and the small gasp of surprise Kai let out, he patted down his dress shirt (the only one he could find out of short notice) and walked out to greet her. She looked around and laughed lightly while Jongup gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheek.
“Welcome home!” he yelled.
Jongup shook his head and put a finger to his lips to Kai because he didn’t want to be asked questions. He led her to their dinner table and sat her down. They had their dinner and Jongup knew he succeeded in making her feel special tonight.
But it’s not over yet.
“Kai! I have one more surprise for you!” he said.
Kai, already bewildered the house was cleaned for the first time in a long time, looked at Jongup and replied, “More? What is it?”
Without a reply, Jongup stood up and made his way into their bedroom. In there, he changed into the costume he bought just for this occasion-to make Kai laugh. He ran out and stood in front of her.
“TADA! I am Jongup-the-Loki. You will kneel before me!” he gave a big smile.
Kai laughed, “What are you doing? What is this?”
“It’s Loki. Because you like him, right?”
“I do...”
“Well, now you can have both of us because I’m Jongup-the-Loki.”

3) YET ANOTHER SURPRISE
As soon as Kai walked into the lobby of her work building, a friend of hers ran up to her and caught her by the arm. She yelped and jumped back before clutching her chest.
“Jeez, you scared me. What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Shh, don’t ask too much, you’ll ruin it. You’ll see, don’t worry.”
Kai, not so sure she wanted to know anymore, hesitated.
“I just want to show you something, okay?” her friend stated.
Kai nodded and followed her friend out to the car that was already waiting outside. The door was opened and she got in. During the whole ride, she stayed quiet and stared out the window. Her friend wanted to make some conversation but thought twice about it. In a matter of time, they were finally there.
“Alright, here’s what you’re going to do,” her friend said, “You’re gonna go in there and say ‘Table 12’ and they’ll take you to it. Then, you’re going to sit down. And don’t forget to smile, you look sad!”
Kai gave a look of confusion when she ended up on the sidewalk after being pushed out of the car. She smoothed out her coat and straightened up before going inside what looked like a fancy restaurant. “Table 12, table 12, table 12,” she chanted to herself.
As she reached the reception desk, she smiled, “Table 12?”
The waitress’s face lit up as if she knew something, gave Kai a nod and led her towards the table. Kai sat down, still confused and looked around. She was given a menu and when she looked up, she stared at her waiter.
Jongup.
“…What is goin- ”
“Welcome, I’ll be your waiter today, baby. Would you like some water?”
“Jongup, what ar-”
“It’s your birthday so I’m serving you tonight! Like my outfit? I fit in well, no?” he smiled cheekily.
Kai nodded and laughed, “You’re the greatest. Now get me some noodles.”

4) SOLDIER JONGUP
“What did I get myself into?” Jongup mutters to himself quietly as he walks up the mountain his crew was covering. He listens to the heavy breathing and footsteps of the others. He catches snippets of the conversations they were having.
“Dangit, how much farther do we have to go?”
“I don’t know man, I’m just hungry,” Daehyun says.
Jongup chuckles and shakes his head as he climbs after his commanding superior. Leave it to Daehyun to think about food before reaching a site they were told to guard.
When they make it to the area of the mountain that’s cultivated, he takes a post by a huge rock. Usually his job is to guard… pretty much nothing. Nothing ever happens and he doubts it’ll change today. During the 5 hours he has to stay by his spot, he gets bored and takes a knife to carve ‘B.A.P was here’ on the rock. He stands and hides the words until his time is up and when he finally gets to leave, he smiles to himself.
He catches up with Daehyun on the way back towards their camp site and pats his friend on the back, “Still hungry?”
“Well, yeah.”
