A Scene In A Living Room For Two People:

Me To Unofficial Nephew while sitting on the floor and watching Fall Out Boy on Soundstage: "Would you please buy me Patrick Stump for my birthday?"
Unofficial Nephew: "Ahnm!" *Attempts to feed me a grape*
Me: *Takes the grape and pretends to eat it* "Mmm, thank you."
UN: *Runs off*

I'm sure I'm one of the last people to see FOB on Soundstage (I've seen pictures from the performance), but it was good. Patrick did this little growling thing during I Don't Care that was just...oooh. It's like Phil's eyebrow-pop. You can't describe it, but when you hear/see it, it's just... Yeah. And can that boy sing or what? Mmph. The singing totally and completely makes up for the unattractive hats* and the, ah, interesting sideburns. The playing's a nice extra, but the voice. *Happy sigh*

Also amusing was the fact that my Unofficial Nephew plopped down on the floor beside me, insisted I have a bite of cheese, and then stared in fascination as I pointed out everyone on stage. He likes music, and he's pretty smart -- he may grow up to be an electrical engineer, or maybe he'll go into music production. Or perhaps he'll surprise us all and become a luchadore instead!

* There are hats that look good on Patrick and make him cuter; there are others that should quietly be left behind at diners or truckstops on their upcoming tour with B182. If I had money to offer to anyone that could make it happen, I would. You'll just have to settle for the undying gratitude of everyone who loves Patrick in his decent hats.

birthday gift ideas, fall out boy, patrick stump, silliness, hats, fob
