An Unexpected Encounter

This is kind of a stupid story. I'm still wondering if it really happened. But I'll tell it anyway.

On Saturday, my mom and I were at the grocery store, cruising the produce section. All of a sudden, she sees this guy and remarks at how he looked like some cop guy on a show she can't remember the name of. Now, if you know my mom, you'd know that sometimes she just blurts things out without thinking-and most of the time, it's very very funny. Mostly because she says it in a way is completely different from how she meant it.

Without thinking (at least I don't think she was) she just walks up to the guy and says, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like a movie star?". I nearly fainted. Now, I don't care what age you are or how you say it, that's always going to sound like a total come-on. He just looks at us and says "Yeah, I get that a lot actually, like a cop on some tv show. Us FBI guys have it pretty good". We all kind of chucked, since he said the last part in a very comical tone. I'm pretty sure mom thought he was kind of joking too and my mom, being my mom, asks "Do you have good health insurance?" (She's a massage therapist, so she asks people that all the time). I swore he was kidding, and I'm pretty sure my mom said it in jest too. But, unexpectedly, he reaches into his pocket and flashes us his FBI badge and says "I have REALLY good health insurance" and then walks away. My mom and I just looked at each other in shock. And now I still can't stop laughing about it.

Who knew the FBI shopped at the Federal Way Winco?
