Dad and Geoff left early Monday morning.

Dad was feeling better and even ate a decent amount for dinner for the first time in five days prior.  I haven't talked to him since they got home, but I'm assuming that he was feeling decent during the flight home.

The Saturday before they left Geoff and I went to Osaka Aquarium.  We had both heard that it was one of the best in the world and decided to go down and check it out.  It was turned out to be decent and I found it more interesting than any other aquarium I have been to.  This could also be because of my being an age where I recognize how insane it to see dolphins, sharks, octopuses, seals, and other large animals up close.

Saturday night was a party at YAB's.  There were supposed to be DJ's human beat-boxers and break dancers, but the the DJ's were the only ones who showed up.  The other guys, one being YAB's cousin, apparently celebrated a bit too hard after winning some sort of break dancing fight-match-war and were too drunk to make their way to the bar.

Sunday morning Geoff and I headed out to see the world's largest Kite at Yokaichi's kite festival.  As we walked up upon the festival we saw the large kite in the air, it was MASSIVE, even from as far away as we were, just then it went behind a building in front of us.  I ran up to see if I could catch another glimpse, but it had gone behind the trees...or so I thought.  As we got to the festival we saw a set of large strings hanging out of a small bamboo forest and lots of people gathered around.  It turns out that the wind took the giant kite for a ride right on top of a bamboo thicket.  We went down to investigate and sure enough you could see the kite stuck on the canopy with a bunch a Japanese men discussing below how they would ever get it out.  This might be a good time for any of you entrepreneurs out there to start work the world's NEXT largest kite.

I got a few nice pictures from our trips...take a look here.
