I know that since this is an anonymous posting you'll probably never see this, but I might as well write this anyway. I really do hope I do not cause offense in this, as I can understand someone having never encountered this kind of relationship and being kind of taken aback by the whole thing.

I know both brainburrito and her master, and they are some of the most pleasant people you could know. She is intelligent, thoughtful, ambitious, and perfectly capable of taking care of herself, he is considerate, polite, and just about one of the most decent human beings it has ever been my pleasure to know. The relationship they have is not one unique to them and it is not something they've been forced into against their will. This is not the typical abused housewife sort of situation. Bondage, Domination, Sadism, and Masochism (BDSM) is actually fairly commonplace these days, and the participants are most commonly, as they are in this case, in the whole thing quite willingly and entirely by their own choice.

I suggest doing a little research on BDSM. Though be careful about it, some of the sources you may find will have pictures and subjects you might find a little disturbing. Try to find all-text, not-for-profit sources. They're out there and they're interesting.
