hello fans.
Another update from me to you, consider it a gift, although one with little monetary, or even emotional value. Have started university, although not properly yet. The battle of the unions to win my membership came to an abrupt end today, when I marched in and collected my membership, purely because its not full of rugby players showering and buggering each other mercilessly, and doesnt look like something from harry potter. That and the fact QMU has the style and substance club night, and GUU has some hideous hip hop/R'nB night. God, R'n'B makes me vomit blood. Same with rap/hip hop. Nothing but talking about women, alloy wheels and jewellery. I'm obviously referring to 50 cent etc, I'd imagine more meaningful music is out there somewhere. Slim chance.
Freshers week was fun. Went to see Goldie Lookin Chain, they were a bit odd. Biffy Clyro were interesting, kept being stolen though. Style and Substance was immense, that Tam Coyle character looked like Uncle Fester (Of Addams Family fame), but he did play some good music. Snow Patrol were also on. I bumped into the guy from Snow Patrol, and asked if he was a fresher. He replied no. I asked if he was a mature student. He said no. He did say he left that to the real students, and that he had psychology textbooks left from years ago. I stopped myself from asking if I could buy them. Celebrity textbooks! yes! We were all dancing like maniacs, very funny. Not for John "Hook a Hooker" Dorman, as he incurred the wrath of the qmgestapo, making accusations that he was drunk and having him thrown out. He didn't seem drunk. Me and Rhuraidh saw the man from The Bravery (He of the large jaw) and he was nice enough to sing Unconditional to us, with the proper dancing. Nice man.
Otter stuff happened. Like odd christians stalking us. Proper classes haven't started yet, but I've wandered about enrolling and stuff, its a very eccentric place. Which is excellent, its a breeding ground for beards. Psychology - the lecturer was mad, started talking about differences in people, and the biology of the brain. One particular part being responsible for "liking Franz Ferdinand, or liking gangster rap". In fact, over the course of the year, I will be starting a very handy first year guide for people thinking of going to uni in the coming years. I will start with the obvious.
LESSON 1 - GO TO MATRICULATION. IT'S IMPORTANT.
Yes. Do not follow the mistake of one first year, who went to a hall, looked around, saw nobody, and went home. If this happens, I advise you to go to somewhere which has lots of people and find out where registration is. Silly boy.
I have been given an essay already for Philosophy. Odd subject, lots of strange questions, (this is in Descartes' Meditations) Passages about if you mis-set the video recorder, does this prove that there is no loving and all-watching God? and other stuff. I'll look out the quotations, theyre quite amusing. I'm guessing there are less aethiests after the advent of Videoplus.
Well so far I'm done, not going to go into stuff about work or anything else at present, maybe another day.
