(no subject)
Geez, I feel like I've been full of questions since I joined...but I think after this I won't have too many for a while. :)
Two questions, then....
This one isn't exactly related, but I was wondering if anyone has a braille watch and what you think of it? I can't believe I never thought of getting one before--I hate when it's dark and I don't know what time it is. I had a watch that lit up once but after a while the light stopped working. The watch I have now doesn't light up. I can't see my alarm clock without my glasses on, and it's always too dark for me to see my watch, so why I never considered getting a tactile watch before now, I don't know. I think I'm going to wait for my current watch to die first though--I only got it a year or so ago if I remember right, and it still runs great, so I'd feel bad "wasting" it.
Second question...is there anywhere not online to get braille supplies? I mean, I know a lot of places online that sell various products for the disabled (like Independent Living Aids, Maxi Aids, etc.) sells them...so would the same type of places IRL do it too? Obviously I don't live near any of the normal non-online places like AFB store or anything so that's not an option. Does that mean I'm SOL for getting things that aren't online?
