Juried one shots are a really great thing. (Trying to fit them into OVFF weekend is really hard for me, which is why I haven't always signed up when they're offered.) Mary Crowell is excellent as a teacher.
As for the half-hour concert slot -- I'd like to throw out the heretical suggestion that what we really need is a half hour long break in the middle of Saturday afternoon.
I like juried one-shots and want to always participate, thought schedule and energy don't always allow. MEW does give absolutely terrific feedback, though it tends to be long so you fit in fewer people. All the UT members are good as jury members. I've also seen Rand do an excellent job as a juror (and vixy and Seanan but I don't think you have that option this year).
I have long wanted Debbie to give a workshop on writing good counterpoint for songs and doing arrangements with counterpoint. I generally love workshops that are not only about writing but get people to write (as Maya did at OVFF). Percussion also makes a great workshop topic, especially for those of us who don't play guitar.
I have to agree with Jane that UT make wonderful adjudicator's and I attended their counterpoint workshop many years ago and loved it. Sue and I are definitely planning on going this year and are looking forward to the new hotel and seeing everyone again!!! Big Hugs!

If mewsic is there, she's excellent as a judge. So is catalana and I'd be tempted to suggest the Suttons as well.
