Thank you, Green Eyes! :)

I find the theme of immortality while outliving everyone you love to be a fascinating, albeit sad, one.

She had loved in the centuries since his death. She had even made love with others, as eternal celibacy had not suited her.

But she had never been in love ever again.

That's a wonderful summary of the woman and the way she loves for me. Oh, why oh why have I never seen a take with Diana as a Green Lantern!? Damn, that would be so awesome!

Diana in the future is so desolate! I love that she's had such a full life...and yet it seems like such a drop in the bucket compared to the emptiness she faces now...*sniffles*

Love to Diana has always been as much a part of her as her strength or speed or any of her Amazon powers.

And Diana as a Green Lantern would be incredible! :)

That's the problem with immortality. Time just wears you out!

God, this was so heart breaking, and so beautifully written. You can really feel Diana's dispare.

And her happy memories nearly made everything better.

*nods* Someone like Diana shouldn't be alone, at least not for centuries!

Wonderfully written, as usual. ^^

Thank you kindly, Louise! :)

Steve Trevor, the man she had loved at first sight, had died in her arms, shaking fingers touching her face as he smiled at his Angel, the final battle at her side taking him away from her.

She had loved in the centuries since his death. She had even made love with others, as eternal celibacy had not suited her.

But she had never been in love ever again.

*whimpers* That is where I started to cry.

By the flashback with Dick I was pretty much sobbing.

By the end, I couldn't see the screen through my tears.

I know! I was feeling the tears myself when I wrote this. *wipes eyes*

This was a glorious piece of fiction and makes my heart hurt. I loved it to the bottom of the heart it broke.

*blushes* Thank you, Pervy!

It's that air of quiet resignation that kills me. Because she's been alone for so long and lived through so much, that it's as if every strong emotion has worn away. And that is heartbreaking.

Of course, I also very much approve of the Clark/Bruce/Dick, which is what made me read this, and the idea that Dick is really the only with a strong enough personality and sense of self to be involved with both of the World's Finest. *sighs* That makes me so happy, because I LOVE Dick. (And that will never not be funny. *g*)

*nods* I find the notion of immortality pretty scary. It seems as if it would wear people down with the sheer weight of years.
