More SOPA News!

The SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) boycott is on! Wikipedia, Google, and fandom's own A03 are all blacked out today, just to name a few sites.

The White House has already said that Obama's not going to sign it in it's current form and the bill has already been tabled. I realize that's not the same as dead and people should still write to their Congresspeople, but the urgency is off.

Yeah, like vampires, they could rise from the dead! :)

A lot of people had no idea about this bill. Not surprising, since the entertainment/news outlets who are mainstream had very little coverage seeing as how they wanted it to pass. Thank goodness for alternative outlets!

Yeah, I was shocked today at work when one of my co-workers said something about the gov't trying to censor the internet. Like he hadn't heard about it before. I've been hearing about this bill since before it was called SOPA.

Very few people knew about it before the black-out and now the news about Metaupload. The mainstream media was very skilled in suppressing the news.
