Well, it's a new year again. I suppose the clean slate is exciting, but sometimes I feel as if it's just turning the page to same ol', same ol'. Still, I am rejuvenated in fandom this year after at least two years of near-gafiation. I'll hope for a lot better in my personal and professional life this year, and my fannish life is doing fine. So I think I'll talk about friends and fandom for a bit.
I cherish the friends I've known for a long time, who have encouraged and stuck by me in times good and bad, and I have wonderful memories and hope to make new ones. I'm also pleased by the new friends I've made and am enjoying their writing, art, and manip talents very much.
I'm an obsessive listmaker, so bear with me. :) I did manage to complete the following in 2006 fic-wise:
1) My Christmas Wild Wild West story, "One Snowy Night In Boston" and posted to the WWW slash page.
2) The two "Announcement" ficlets (Superman/Batman).
3) The "Rain" ficlet self-challenge (S/B).
4) Two of four parts in the S/B "Time And Place" saga.
5) "Light To The Dark" Batman/Robin fic. Just posted it today! :)
I'm still working on various fics for completion. The WWW zine, Sin & Salvation, needs stories, and I plan to finish "Time And Place" soon. I do intend to finish final revisions on "The Age Of Heroes", another four-parter, and more B/R stuff. And the "Chains" fic is bubbling away in my evil little brain. Anyone who knows me from Due South fandom knows I love those chains! :) I definitely am interested in more Golden and Silver Age adventures, and more self-challenges. I like to stretch my writing muscles!
Pro fic: one completed handwritten manuscript, a few other ideas waiting to be put on paper. I'm either going to be the next Anne Rice or J.K. Rowling. Hey, ya gotta have dreams, no matter how farfetched! :)
As for New Year's, the pasta salad went over big and I saw the ball drop! And the Patriots are in the playoffs! Lookin' good so far! :)
