“I have no intention of letting myself get killed, Carter. I’ll be down at the squadroom shortly, but I need to inform Patrick of the latest development.”
Too bad they didn't have cellphones back then... XD
"The Mummy and now Count Dracula? What’s with all these refugees from Universal Studios?"

It amazes me how the police and agents could be successful without the technology that makes it so much easier today. They had to find phones while on the road to check in as we saw in the Biograph scene in the movie, and of course had no DNA evidence or even many forensics we take for granted today. That was one of the reasons that Mel was first admiring of Hoover: his modernism and willing to use new techniques.

Exactly! Did you know that Melvin was head of the fingerprint department in Washington for a while?

I did! Fingerprint identification was a huge leap forward for law enforcement.
Both Mel and Johnny were pretty progressive. Mel used the FBI techniques and Johnny was very methodical and detailed in his robberies, using older robbers' methods to perfection.

I LOVE the incorporation of the universal monsters, especially Lugosi! I am in dread of what will befall Mel and Carter! eeeeep!

Spookiness to continue! And I couldn't resist the Universal monsters, especially since the movie was made at Universal Studios. ;)
