With all the new upheavals now being experienced in the Empire we have the ground setting trial of Edmund Caldwell. Brilliant! You are heaping problem on problem, new upon change so I can’t wait to see how this system you’ve created fractures and crumbles under it all. Very exciting now that the…game is afoot!
Thank you for sharing this new chapter, it all so exciting!

I'm glad that you're enjoying it, m'lady! I really enjoyed writing this chapter, putting my years of viewing Law And Order and Perry Mason to good use. ;)

This is definitely the crack in the foundation. It may not appear large at first, but you know how big cracks are made from small!

You know, even if (when, I'm afraid D:) Caldwell gets off, they can still take care of the problem. Just kill the old bastard-after setting up a scene where it looks like he was helping slaves escape of something, like he was working for an Underground Railroad. Then everybody will think anti-abolitionists did it because of his oh-so-liberal and enlightened views, and be very moved and shit.

IT WOULD WORK I KNOW IT! 0.0

Will Edmund get off with just a fine and a slap on the wrist? Maybe. And if he doesn't? :)

Man, I need a dozen pages just to keep all my notes straight for all the subplots! ;)

Ohh things seem to be heating up now, I hope for Bruce and Clark's sake things end well in the court room. I loved Kathy's opening statement.
Great chapter, I look forward to the next installment :D

Edmund is going down... I hope. Hard to predict how the courts will act though given the law.

You can never tell which way a jury will jump.
