Divisional Round: New York Jet 28, New England Patriots 21 (0-1) Sunday, January 16, 2011
Well, the subject line says it all. The Patriots blew it big-time. For the second year in a row, they lost at home in the playoffs and are one-and-done.
Funny thing is, I had a bad feeling about this game. I wasn't sure at all that they could pull it out, yet I was bitterly disappointed that they couldn't. I hate losing to the loathsome Jets and their trash-talking loudmouthed selves. The Patriots could have shut them up and they didn't.
The Patriots are my heart-and-soul team. I love the other Boston sports teams and continue to follow them, but the Pats are the only team capable of tearing my heart out.
Tom and the Pats have lost their playoff mojo. Once upon a time they would get the job done. Now? Meh.
Well, no idea about next year, as the owners may lock the players out. Time will tell.
