This is an AU of the Mirror Universe with some interesting twists. :)

“Slave, attend me.”

Leonard McCoy sighed. One thing about having a Vulcan for a Master, they could be pompous bastards. He went to Spock’s side, the other crewmembers smirking. A few had their own personal slaves, but it wasn’t a common occurrence. Starfleet personnel had to apply for permission to bring slaves, otherwise ships and bases could become overcrowded. Higher-ranking officers were usually the only ones to receive permission.

And Spock of Vulcan was certainly high-ranking. Second-in-command to James T. Kirk, he was a being capable of terrorizing the crew but protecting his va’ar, a slave used for personal service.

McCoy waited for orders, but Spock already seemed to have forgotten him. The Vulcan was crisply issuing orders to the crew, and when everyone dispersed down the corridor, Spock turned for his quarters, McCoy automatically trailing behind.

Inside Spock’s quarters, the firepot on the wall glowed red, illuminating the ceremonial swords and axes surrounding it.

“Barbaric décor,” McCoy grumbled.

Spock’s lip quirked. Damn, that beard was sexy.

“I would think you would appreciate it. Earth is nothing if not barbaric.”

McCoy snorted. “Says a Vulcan.”

Spock began to untie his gold sash. “Perhaps it would behoove you to perform your duties.”

McCoy rolled his eyes and started to help Spock undress. When the Vulcan was naked, he cupped McCoy’s chin.

“Do you know why I put up with your shameful insubordination, my slave?” McCoy’s eyes were very blue as he looked at his Master. “It is because you are very inventive in bed…and highly intelligent.”

“And you plan to start the coup on Vulcan with the help of the network of agents that Jim and I have set up.”

“Quite so.” Spock stood back while McCoy undressed. “You were able to organize the Human slaves, and I have prepared the Vulcan operatives. We will be able to rule Vulcan, and from there, the Empire.”

“All those savage Vulcan Warriors will rally to your House, eh?”

“Yes.” Spock’s eyes gleamed in the firepot’s light as he watched McCoy disrobe. “Once they realize that a New Way can be had, they will follow.”

“A way more logical than savage?”

“Surak’s teachings are admirable, and life would be less wasteful. Passions have created more death and destruction, with Blood Hunts and other revenge oaths, than any logic ever could. Also, with Vulcan as the ruling power, many Houses would gain.”

“And it doesn’t hurt to have a starship at your beck-and-call, eh?” McCoy smirked.

Spock’s smile was savage. “Jim’s involvement is most fortuitous.”

“I think you mean ‘handy’.”

“That, too.”

McCoy chuckled. “You’re a softie, Spock.” The Vulcan raised an eyebrow. “If you hadn’t plucked me off Rigel VII and that slum I’d been dumped into, God knows where I’d be now.”

“Your medical skills would have served you well.”

“I couldn’t have treated patients as a slave.”

Spock pulled McCoy close. “You shall practice medicine as my personal physician, Leonard.”

“Until then?” McCoy asked, amusement glittering in his eyes.

“Until then, you will serve me in the most personal way, va’ar.”

“So I’m the best medicine for you?”

Spock’s eyes gleamed. “Without question.”

Fade to red ;)
