This was beautiful. I only have a little knowledge of Steve and Diana but this makes me want to know ever more. Wonderfully written.

Thank you, Green Eyes! I always appreciate your comments. :)

It's sad that DC let their relationship slide into obscurity for the last 20+ years. I have heard (not 100% sure if it's true) that the limited series All-Star Wonder Woman will be bringing back the young, dashing pilot that Diana originally fell in love with way back in the Golden Age. :)

Oh, you know how I love your Diana/Steve! And now I have the ironic image of them meeting and Steve coming up from the surf like a male Aphrodite...*sighs happily*

I'm an island junkie--I just think there's something especially magical about them--so I love the image of Diana setting up her own little pavilion for the two of them on their own private island. The wine and fruit and cloth all create a beautiful, idyllic image. And I especially love Diana's contemplation of the gender difference in sex--in part because her sort of casual underlying assumption that it's male/female sex that's the unusual thing. *loves Amazons so much*

*hugs you* Thank you so much, this is such a lovely present! It's been so wonderful getting to meet you and read your stories and I feel very lucky and blessed. :) I owe you an email, too!

When I got the idea for this fic, I immediately thought of you! :) And it was still close enough to your birthday to count.

I, too, find island to be on the magical side. :)

I slipped that in there with a smile as with Amazons, same-sex couplings, at least of the female variety, are the norm, and they probably have a secret little passion for male/male pairings, too. :) It's the male/female couplings that are so weighted with issues for them! :)

*hugs back* I'm so glad you enjoyed the gift! :)

It's been so wonderful getting to meet you and read your stories and I feel very lucky and blessed. :)

I feel the same way, too! :)

Thank you very much, Silver! :)

It pleases me that you find the story appealing even when not knowing much about the couple. :)

I really love it! I know you wrote it a long time ago, but I still wanted to comment. It seems that strong female heroes always get shafted in the romance department unless their partner is of equal or greater in strength than they are, because of stupid lingering gender stereotypes, so it's always nice to read a story where the man feels that he's lucky that such an awesome woman loves him, and where the woman doesn't feel that she needs someone more powerful than she is.

Thank you! :)

Wonder Woman's creator, William Moulton Marston, was truly a man ahead of his time! He deliberately crafted a relationship in which the dashing fighter pilot (she debuted in 1941) was fascinated by his Angel instead of repelled by her strength.

Granted, the Silver Age changed that, as WW was written more like a romance comic and the writers seemed determined to write Steve as a jerk, but the Bronze Age brought them back to their Golden Age roots. :)
