Hey, flist! I'm not quite sure of the answer so I thought I would go to my knowledgeable flist for a friend of mine needing an answer for her Halloween story. She needs it quick! ;) Her question is:

Okay, how does Nightwing get in touch with Oracle? Oracle, not Barbara. Especially if he's away from home, say in another town. Does he just call ( Read more... )

I think he'd call her on his comm-link. Not sure, but I think you could make that believable. Or he could get her over the internet.

Good luck!

They have a comm-link system, like Ava mentions. I believe he can just activate it and he gets a direct line -- that's what I get from the comics, anyway ( ... )

Depends when the fic takes place.

Usually Dick and all the other Bats contact Oracle via a comlink system, meaning receiver is an ear plug, speaker a mike in the costume collar.

There also was a time when Babs/Oracle stopped being the main source of information for the Bats 24/7 then Dick contacted her via cell or the net and she answered using the comlink system.

After RIP we are back to the "call when needed".

Ops forgot half of it:

I don't remember Dick making a distinction between Oracle and Babs, and neither does Babs making a distinction between Dick and Nightwing.

If others listen in they usually don't use each others civilian name, secret identity there....but when alone they their surnames and bantered quiet often.

BTW not sure if this information is required but is has be established that Oracle always uses secure lines when contacting others.
