New England Patriots 27, Philadelphia Eagles 25 (1-0) (Pre-season) (Thursday, August 13, 2009)
My Tommy’s back, baby! ;)
He looked GREAT last night! Granted, he still has a lot of work to do (he threw an interception, which galled him no end) but he was sharp, had pocket presence, and looked like the best quarterback in the game.
Rookie Julian Edelman did a great job, running a punt back for 75 yards and a TD, and the defense looked good. The wide receivers were mostly in sync with Tom, my boy throwing an absolutely pretty pass to Randy Moss, who took it in effortlessly.
The offensive line gets BIG credit for keeping Tom upright. It was unusual to see Tom play two quarters in a pre-season game, but he wanted the reps and obviously Bill Belichick agreed.
It’s only preseason, but it was a heckuva boost for us New England Patriots’ fans to see Tom looking so good (and he played well, too). ;)
