This is -- I don't know, kind of fascinating and horrifying at the same time. I don't think I have a clear picture yet of what goes on, on Paradise Island. But I know that Steve will have to return to his regular life, and that he'll carry Diana in his mind and heart until the time comes

Yes, Steve will have to leave Diana behind, but he will return...a few arcs from now. ;)
And soon we find out about Hal, right?
His fate will be known before the arc ends.
So many different threads to keep track of, now
And you've done an excellent job of summarizing them! :)
The planet where they cherish their slaves is Jovara, and is where the House of Wayne will travel to in the sixth arc.
I think about all these threads, how different they are from each other, how they're developing and in some cases intertwining. I can see that surely they will all eventually weave together. And it's a joy to realize how much wonderful reading still lies ahead.*nods

Well, I felt that I owed you a thoughtful comment; I haven't given much feedback at all lately, and as an LJ reader it's my job (and my pleasure) to be responsive to the writers who share such wonderful creations with us. As it happened, my thoughts turned to the way this episode fits into the larger story and moves it forward, and the pleasure to be found in seeing the tapestry being woven -- a different reading experience than seeing only the final product.
That was what I meant, anyway. I don't think summarizing your own plot for you would be particularly helpful! ^_^

Believe me, it's much appreciated. :)

Yes, that's why I enjoy reading other people's stories about my favorites because I don't know the endings! ;)

I had a hard time sometimes writing this chapter. I love Diana so much, and it's difficult to think of her and the rest of the Amazons in such a situation.
I don't know how to say it. I will say the parts that gave me actual physical chills (and it's because of the revelations in the lines themselves, but also the buildup to them, as it all works as a whole, of course, but this is when my heart dropped):
Steve smiled but felt uncomfortable. Maybe this place had been Paradise at one time, but he doubted it was now. Everything was beautiful on the surface, but in reality it was a giant brothel, exploiting a proud Warrior race.
later: “I believe in Destiny,” Diana said quietly.
and then: He felt slightly numbed. Of course! How did you successfully subjugate a highly-skilled Warrior race for almost four centuries?
You drugged them.Oh, my! on each of those lines. Worse each time

The words 'giant brothel' always does it for me, too.

She always has, and I think it's a requirment when you deal with Gods and such. :)

I figured it was the only way to control the Amazons.
Great chapter!. I just like Steve more and more. You can tell he is going to be a part of the force to make changes in the system. It speaks volumes about his character. How the hell can the government get away with drugging entire races of people. It boggles the mind. I know it's accepted in their universe as the norm but where are these peoples morals????
Destiny. I believe in it too. I hope it all works out for everyone! Can't wait for more.

He is definitely going to help Diana and the Amazons in the future.

Sadly, morality and slavery don't often go together.

Thank you! :)
BTW, Clark's got a beautiful eye there. What color! :)
Thank you!!! I was told today my icons were too "simple" to become a member of an icon list. So I'm trying to kick them up a notch, I will have a whole new batch of "simple" ones to post soon and a few "experiments" That will try and step them up a bit. I hope they will work I'm glad you like this one.

I suppose they mean you must put more text into them?
Some people are pretty full of themselves, aren't they?
