I liked that chapter, even if I could strangle Ed, it show how much slavery has become part of daily life in this world.

Yikes. That Edmund Caldwell is one scary SOB. I always figured the Caldwell's would be back to wreak some sort of havoc. I'm nervous for Clark, but then again, if he or his sons touched Clark that would give Bruce an excellent reason to snap their necks. What a pleasant thought.

I loved Dinah’s worlds there. Oliver’s reaction was sad to read, but right. You really “made” this AU pretty hard for everyone, slaves as well as freemen but such devils as is Edmund. I believe he will get what he deserves.
Oh, and Bruce should watch his back! The last quotes are nightmarish! Please, don’t let Edmund lay hands on Clark or Dick!

I loved Dinah’s words there. Oliver’s reaction was sad to read, but right. You really "made" this AU pretty hard for everyone, slaves as well as freemen but such devils as is Edmund. I believe he will get what he deserves.

It's tough. I'm sure there would be more than just a few people willing to free their slaves, but the laws make it very difficult.
