This was fun to read! I like learning about my flist's interests, outside of fandom.
I totally agree with #1. :D
Yay for #3&4! I'm just like you ... I used to read so much when I was younger. Books are definitely one of my passions. I hid a flashlight by my bed and read when I was supposed to be sleeping. ;)
As for the writing, I totally wrote my own stories. Hundreds of pages of stories, which I pretended could be Bollywood fics. That, btw, is also one of my passions. *points to icon* I worship that man.
#5 is cool. I love jewelry too. I have a bit of a ring obsession. I have frustratingly sensitive skin so I am allergic to nickel. It sucks since I love the huge hoop earrings but I just can't wear them. :\
Halloween is a great holiday! Candy plus costumes? WIN!
Christian Bale definitely deserves his own mention. ;)
CANADA! I've never been but I'm going with my family to Vancouver at the end of August. I'm very excited.

Isn't it cool to learn about people? :) And I'm glad it was fun to read! :)

Oh, yeah! Flashlights got quite the work-out! :) And I never went anywhere, especially a long trip, without something to read!

I wrote some original stuff and some TV-inspired things, too. A fanfic writer before I was out of grade school! LOL!
I did take an artist's sketchbook and wrote my own stories about General Hospital (I loved the nurses' uniforms and caps in those days) in pictures. Kind of like a comic book. ;)
I could never wear earrings. Too chicken to get 'em pierced, so I wear every other kind of jewelry instead.
I got my ears pierced before my first birthday. I was in India at the time and girls got their ears pierced young. So I don't remember the pain, thank goodness. I did watch my sister get hers and I looked away. :\ She got a second piercing a little while ago and I don't know how she did it.
LOL! The link to that bunch of pix I posted a few days ago was TOTALLY AWESOME!!! ;)
Dude, it was! The person who made that post is actually on my flist and she has the best Bale picspams.
A lot of my family friends have been to Canada and that's what they've said. I can't wait! I love traveling.
Not rambling! Fun stuff! :)
Don't encourage me. I'm a regular chatterbox and it's dangerous to let me loose. LOL! :D
Hey, you probably already know this, but since you're a fan of Due South I thought I'd tell you, just in case, about Paul Gross's film Men with Brooms. It's hilarious and lovingly pokes fun at our trusty Canadian heritage (and stereotypes!). If you haven't seen it yet, trust me when I tell you you'll love it.

I never got to see the movie but I heard so many of the details that I know it pretty well, and I agree, it was fun! Paul's good at poking fun at himself and his fellow Canadians. :)
*nods* 3&4 for sure. I'm at the point where I read more than write, and I'm okay with that. And same here with trees. I HATE HATE HATE receiving flowers from someone because I feel so bad they've been cut and are dying, even if they're in water. It makes me burst into tears, which is exceedingly embarrassing at work.
Good food! I'm so glad to live in a time where there's plenty of cuisines to sample, from West Coast fusion to Ethiopian to Peruvian.
And a big yes to history! I studied early 20th century Russian history in school, and would have loved to continue that in college. And I was a big Model UN nerd, heh. If only more people shared the bug for history, we'd be better informed individuals, I think.

It really angers me about Americans' historical neglect of the environment. Chop down trees, we'll plant new ones which will take literally generations to grow! How about saving the old trees and planting new ones? I'm glad that environmentalism is finally on my country's radar. *grumbles*

Yes! Even though Italian is my favorite cuisine, I've tried stuff I never would have if I didn't live in these times. :)

Totally with you about several of these. :D Will comment only on a couple, tho:
Canada totally rocks - in fact, a *lot* of really awesome and cool rock bands are from here. I dorkily point out Canadian artists to my friends when I hear them playing on the radio, while I'm on a trip to the US. *lol*
And, oh yeah!, Christian Bale is <3 -- TOTALLY. :swoons:

I learned a lot more about Canadian music from watching Due South. They only used Canadian artists.
I'd live in Canada if I didn't live here in the U.S.

And I'm addicted to the internet for sure.
K, I'll stop rambling now.
