This is my favorite story you have ever written.

Ever.

The snow, making crowns on the angels.
the very nature of grief is to not continue, it ends one way or another.
Dick's fire burning Bruce away to nothing but a hollow.

Wonderful.

And so he walks,
A shell of a man,
no longer with mission,
Barely able to stand
No dark bat is stalking
Your streets tonight,
Gotham, You whore, killed your knight.

Thank you, m'dear! I very much appreciate your comments.

This is beautiful! Is it your original poem?

This was heartbreaking but the image, the detail, the vivid description of Bruce's pain...amazingly done. I am in awe.

Thank you, Green Eyes!

It was a bunny that demanded I write it. Cemeteries at any time of year are sad, in winter especially so.

I am in awe... and pain. Bruce, just reduced to a husk, a shadow of his former self without Dick's light to make him real. Beautiful, but oh so painful.

Thank you, Silver!

When some people leave you, sometimes it's easier not to feel.

I do hope there will be something light and loving for these two soon.

Well, they had fun in The Gentleman And The Sybarite. ;)

Oh, the pain. I can't believe you wrote a sequel to that devastating story, and you still left Bruce alive and without Dick. That's not good. He can't survive like that. It reminds me of that one story you wrote where Dick (also Bruce's husband in that one) died, and Clark tried to comfort him by telling him of the other world he found in which Dick is still alive and his Bruce had just fired him.

Hmmm.

I still think you should write the sequel to that where someone goes universe-hopping and makes the death!fic happy again. Because you break me with these dead!Dick stories, and then I need you to make it better again. Please? It's just too much PAIN.

I still can't believe I wrote it, either! :)

But the idea came to me after my visit to the cemetery the other day and I just had to write it.

This one has me stymied as to how I'll explain Dick suddenly re-appearing in the dimension in which his counterpart is deceased. Oh, well, there's always ( ... )

That was so powerfully painful, and my heart aches just reading it.

Bruce's hollow sorrow is so clear in this, as is his lost hope of life when his bright sun burnt out.

Very powerful.

Thank you, Louise!

I could see Bruce this devastated if he lost Dick. :(
