(Review) Wonder Woman

I highly recommend this movie. I initially gave it an A- because of some flaws, but I gave The Avengers an A+ because it was nearly perfect, and this movie came close for me. I guess you could split the difference and give it an A, but in any case, it’s A-level! ;)

Okay, here’s my review, filled with spoilers, of course:

Hm, sounds like there's some things I'll like, and some I won't (like Steve not making it. He certainly stuck around in the comics.) And why not the glasses? It seems to me she wore them in the comics. Anyway, definitely a movie to look into.

Ha, well, Steve died twice in the comics so he's pretty used to the Great Beyond. :)

Overall, much more things to like than dislike in this movie. I'm betting you're going to enjoy it. :)

I just saw it today and loved it. One of the first thoughts I had after it was over was Marvel could learn a thing or two from this movie. To me, this is how you do a movie with a female superhero.

So, couple of things. I agree there were a few little flaws, but not so much that it would detract from the story itself. I wasn't so sure about Diana being the God-Killer, or being a god herself. I still find myself needing to ask where the Amazons actually came from.

I felt a bit iffy about David Thewlis' character being a god. Just by the fact of his age. I mean, the gods are always depicted as young and beautiful, not to mention immortal, so that didn't quite work for me.

I was sad that Steve sacrificed himself, but I think that was the whole point of what he was trying to teach Diana, and she did say it in the end. It's not that there is light and dark inside humanity, it's the choices we make. So he gets a heroic death and she learns a lesson from his death.

I now have hope for Justice League. Depending on who's directing it.

I'm hopeful for the Justice League movie, too. DC and Warner Brothers have been given a golden opportunity to fix the DCEU, courtesy of Diana. :)

There's a picture of Ares that does resemble Thewlis, so maybe that's why they went with him. :)

Argh, I knew Steve would get fridged, but he's come back from the dead before, :)
