Kalina's starting to take on a very specific voice for me, and I like her quite a lot. "True words" is a very nice last line.

Lovely details like: My mother’s hair was still a rich red and shimmered in the morning sunlight as we sat in the breakfast nook. There was a shadow over us even on this sunniest of days.

A quiet, contemplative piece, reflecting on all the pain that's gone before. Very heart-breaking. Diana with stiff joints? Oh, the heart catches.

I'm glad Kalina is 'real' to you, Jen! And I always try to include the little things. A friend of mine who is an excellent writer told me years ago that describing the little things helped make a rich story.

Thank you, Merfilly! What song was playing?

Yes, I wanted to tell this tale through the women's eyes. I think women are excellent caretakers of the tales we need.

Chapter Four should be online very soon!

Well, actually what I want is to sip some lemon tea with you while sampling the raspberry cookies. Just sounds like something I would really enjoy doing.

Very nice remembrance of our heroes. I especially like the idea of Clark really needing close relationships. I think that is very true.

Thank you, Due! I'd love to have tea and cookies with you, too! Actually, I thought of you when I was writing this scene. Maybe I'll write a scene with pumpkin butter in it for you, too. ;)

A man like Clark seems to need the human contact more than Bruce does. Could be his nature, his need to feel part of the human race, or a combination of both.
