Ok, so I've been applying for jobs. I'm a college graduate, and I would consider myself to be an intelligent person. One job I applied for online was supposed to send me a screening link for a job assessment. That was more than a week ago, and still no link. I've been emailing with their 'Customer Service' for the past week, and I honestly can't believe ignorant they are or think I am.
Email #1 from them: 1. Check to make sure your email address is right (ummm...pretty sure I responded to a previous email you sent me) 2. Check your junk email (umm....there is the 'duh' factor here). I responded very politely that I still had not received a link.
Email #2 from them: They tried resending the link, and told me if I still hadn't received the link that I should provide a personal email address to them (instead of my .edu address). Since I still hadn't received the link, I emailed them back saying as much, and per their request/suggestion, I emailed them a personal Hotmail address to use. I even went as far to change my email address on my profile.
Email #3 from them: Well to start, their response time isn't anything amazing. A direct quote from this email: "You may want to reply and suggest a non edu email address you would like to use." Hello, did you read my previous email? I can and did follow your instructions/advice. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to work for them anymore. I'm taking the time and effort to complete the application for this job position, which I would consider the doings of an intelligent person. Please treat me like one!
I responded, still very politely, making sure to BOLD my Hotmail address. Maybe this time they'll see it, use it, and I'll finally get that link and be able to cross another application off of my list!
