Weekend In Town

I started feeling better as soon as I got home on Thursday. I guess I’ve felt lonely sometimes when I’m at work. There’s only so much you can talk to some student workers about. Reflecting on my bible study earlier that night helped me feel more peaceful. I also had a weekend full of fun to look forward to.

Friday, I took it easy during the day, and then went to a game night. We played Scene It which was a board game about movies, and the card game Apples to Apples was a blast to play with 8 people.

I went over to Brian & David’s house to spend some time with them & their family since David was in town. David and his roommate went to an Asian Beauty Pageant at some high school in support of someone they knew, so I went over to my mom’s place to see how it looked with everything in it. I couldn’t believe that everything fit in the elevator to get it all up to the top floor where my mom lives. Her place looks great and has more of a home feel to it. Although she has lots of boxes on her patio, my mom’s condo still manages to seem spacious despite the 24 foot truck worth of stuff she unloaded into it.

"One of the major reasons people don’t go to church or follow Jesus is because of hypocrisies in the church."
That’s a strong message I liked to hear for a sermon because there was something for all Christians to learn from this, since the church is made by its members. The pastor gave a number of reasons why we shouldn’t be hypocrites by what we say or the way we act, a big one being that as one person, we can set a big example for what God and Jesus are like to other people. I could write a lot more about this, but I'm a bit hungry.

This weekend is just what I needed to recover from feeling tired and lonely after 2 weekend trips.

games, church, friends
