"I am setting up interviews for the Technology Support Analyst Associate position you recently applied for. Please call me to schedule a time for you to come in. Thank you."
Noooo...thank you! I got an interview for a job I applied for that pays five thousand more per year (a few hundred more per month). It's this Friday afternoon. As long as I practice responces to common questions such as "What do you like most/least about your current job?", "What kind of experience do you have related to ________?", and "Why are you intersted in this job?", I'm sure it will go well. My last interview over two years ago, for my current full time job, had me quite nervous, but for the most part it went smoothly. After all, I did get the job.
Even though this pays more, it will be more of a lateral move than a vertical one. The job title is almost the same as my current one, although one could say it is a bit of a vertical move in the way that it pays more and requires 3 years experience instead of 2.
This was exactly what I needed to make me feel better than the way I felt earlier today. Coincidence or divine intervention...you decide.
Virtua Cop 3 is my new favorite shooting game at the arcades. The only difference between Time Crisis 2 & 3 is the ability to switch between 4 weapon types. The difference between Virtua Cop 2 & 3 however, is HUGE. Virtua Cop uses a pedal, but it doesn't serve the function of hiding like it does in TC. It's used to enable a something that I've never seen in a light gun game before - Bullet time. The ability to slow time & bullets to a crawl goes by the name of E.S. Mode. It is perfect for when you know a bad guy is about to wound you with a shot or when taking on a boss. I don't find myself using it to the point that it becomes a cheezy or overused gimic, so I find this to be an incredibly game enhancing feature. Another thing I haven't seen since playing the Jurassic Park shooting games are the "events" that happen where you can succeed or fail, with failure resulting in losing a life and/or temporarily harder gameplay. The ones that happen in VC 3 usually kick major ass. A siren sound goes off, a warning symbol pops up, the animation turns blurry and black & white, and sometimes you automatically enter E.S. Mode with explosions & stuff flying everywhere, catapulting you into action in a matter of seconds. That's when you're faced with a quick challenge of unloading clips into several targets that are usually coming right at you. Moments like that can give me quite a rush, unlike almost any other light gun shooter.
