Fair and Balanced - Not Fox News, but rather, my weekend

Oct 24, 2005 20:06

My mom and I got to the fair just an hour after it opened in order to get two for one admission, which ended up being worth it. We saw most of the animals, as well as various photographs, crafts, and hobby items that were displayed. I also played a few midway games, which I didn't win big on, rode a few rides, and ate a Churro - All in good fun. I don't think going with more people would've made the Fair experience itself much better, aside from hanging out with friends, but I got to do that later in the weekend. I watched Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on DVD which was a very unique, weird, but funny sci-fi movie. I haven't read the book, but if I ever get a bunch of freetime on my hands that I don't manage to preoccupy too fast, I'll give it a read.

In two weekends, I'm planning to throw another party. I'm working out the details of it, but expect to get them in your email this week. While at the game store today with Michelle, I found two games that will be great for the party. Also, we demo'd Starfarers - A space version of Settlers of Catan. We actually found a third person at the store who was able to play with us, and despite me losing at a board game once again, it was great. Michelle can't wait to come upon some more money to buy it.

I went to church and the young adult group on Sunday, which has helped keep my spirit high and try to connect with even more people deeper than surface level.

Between the two, I did some Halloween shopping and made up my mind about what I want to be for the occasion. I won't be revealing it early, so I won't be replying to any comments asking about it. If you want to see it, catch me Friday while gaming, at the Halloween party, Monday on Mill, or wait for me to post pictures of it here. I'll consider revealing a hint each day or two leading up to Halloween. It will be awesome.
