From enlightening chill out sessions to unsuspected ass kickings to the curb

This weekend has been the perfect mix of time chilling at home alone as well as with other people.

Saturday night, I met up with Kassi and a bunch of her friends in Chandler for karaoke. The time I had to wait to sing a second song seemed like forever, but it was well worth it, as it was great fun singing, catching up with Kassi, and being entertained by everyone else there. I'll definitely have to do that again sometime. One of the funnier things about the night was this one kinda older woman with a sparkly dimaond-like belt who would get up and dance or freak with whoever was singing a song that she liked. My first song was What Would You Say, which stayed well in my comfort zone and doing Dave Matthew's trademark accent was a sure thing. With Slide, I went out on a limb a bit, as I hadn't done a Goo Goo Doll song in years. I must've been singing well, because the "walking accessory" got up and walked towards me. I wish I could've seen my own reaction - Turning away from her, giving a hint of cringe and perhaps a silent cry for help to Kassi. After the first verse was finished, I slowly turned around and sang the remainder of the song with a sense of relief, as it turned out she just wanted to dance with someone else from her table.

I didn't know today was the last Diamondbacks game home game of the season, until someone from church invited me to go. I hadn't been in to one in over a year. I asked Michelle if she wanted to go, since I had planned to go to the gaming store with her, but she had a really bad hangover from doing some drinking Saturday. They were decent seats, just a dozen rows from the field in the middle of the 3rd base line. It was a close game throughout and was tied for the second half, until a low grand slam was hit by the D-Backs which was quite simply an incredible way to end the game. I had quite a bit of fun and was really glad to be invited at the last minute after going to church.

Jessica thought of the idea to have dinner at YC's. The food and talk was nothing short of great. They had a new Orange sauce that became a great addition to my custom sauce mix. The only bad thing about it was how I felt like such a wuss - I mean, it barely looked like I made a dent in my bowl's contents.

After Jessica had to head home, I went to Borders for a while to look at magazines and music. I didn't feel like reading much else besides console related mags, which the number of seems to have dropped as well as more of them becoming bagged. It caught me up with what was going on in the gaming world and helped me figure out what kinds of games I might want to get for my PS2 in the near future. I also looked at CDs and listened to a little music. They had a bunch of CDs on sale - 2 for $22, which was pretty good...if I could've found two that I really wanted and/or didn't already have MP3s of.

On a whim, I stopped by a theater, saw what they had playing, and bought a ticket for Flightplan. Yes, its much like Panic Room on a plane, but I thought it practically just as good. There's more mind games and cerebral scares in Jodie Foster's latest box office hit, but the scares and action change as the movie progresses. I thought the movie did a good job of letting the audience know only as much as the main character does. Of course, I'm not the type who can easily predict most movies, and if you are - I'm sorry, because that must screw over what you think about lots of movies.

I dug into my Electronic music archive on Friday, discovered tons of incredible tracks, and burned the best MP3s to a CD for enjoyment in my car. Their range can also be described just like my weekend. I can only hope that I will find wicked ways to mix them and one up my previous Electronic Mega Mixes.

I should get some sleep. Lord knows I really needed a lot of it the past two days, as I practically passed out unsuspectingly a couple of times after coming home from various strings of activities. I'll need some more if I wanna put together my new bookshelf - The last piece to my IKEA furniture puzzle.

It doesn't really matter though - Life is full and good.
