Old journal entries

It was time to clear out some old journals, and I did, and I felt like sharing these two snippets:

Music. Sweet music. I want to actually make music. Not little bits and fragments like I record every now and again. Full fledged, full bodied compositions. Stuff that is full of emotion and passion. Stuff that makes listeners think. Good music isn’t necessarily happy music.

So it’s time for some changes. I want to be a rock star… My own melody repeats in my mind… Thunder has become my rhythm section…

The demo version of the album Striving for Mediocrity was completed on Valentines Day 2006. Some of the songs that I wrote started in 2000. Years of on and off writing and tweaking, and some of the songs finally saw the light of day in a limited run of only fifty copies. Although songs from SFM will inevitably resurface both live and on future releases (perhaps unrecognizably) I don't think SFM will ever get a further release. It was too personal for me to get out there, and I want to redo everything anyhow.

I am working on songs for the EP and second album.  I have some partially completed songs for both, but as of now, I am taking my time, offering only that the EP will probably be finished in Mid 2007.  It will be a bridge that connects the songs from SFM to the second album, which is already shaping up to be decided different.

The novel is on track to be finished in August 2006.
