All right, the long awaited update. Here goes:
College was sadly, not as expected. I am trying my best to adjust, but it has been 3 months so far, I am halfway through the year, and just trudging through. So much for fitting in. I came home Tuesday night, and I am going back Saturday afternoon, to see LESS THAN JAKE (finally!) Too bad I miss my darling during the course of going back to Pittsburgh early. Luckily, I am done with school for 2003 14 days from today. That's only two weeks. What did I do so far this extended weekend? I ate very little turkey, I can tell you that. I got to meet up with Wes for the first time in months, I believe. I got to see Gothika with CC. I hung out with Cricket, and tried to comfort her for her loss the best I could in my own bizarre way. I listened to demos. Lots of them. I think most of them, almost everything I could possibly dig up I am listening to. Seriously around 2 1/2 or 3 hours worth of music, folks. We're talking about everything I recorded since 2002. A lot of covers, but there are some snippets that could be worked into songs, I actually believe that I can try to work some whilst at college.
I got some great responses from people about my cover of "Nightmares by the Sea" by Jeff Buckley. It was just me and my acoustic guitar and a multi track recorder. What's the plan? Finish some of these songs up. Enough that I can demo what I'd like them to sound like over the course of Christmas vacation. It's not like I have anything better to do during my downtime at finals week. I figure I can be able to do this. I really wish I would have brought my acoustic home with me this weekend. I miss it so much, and my crappy electric I have here with only 5 strings just isn't cutting it right now. Other stuff to do? When I can't spend anymore time listening to demos, I hope to go through the Alterations and Modifications revisions. Someone posted about one of my poems here anonymously. I really wish you would have at least left your first name, I'd like to know where comments come from. Midvale is underway, as always. I think I finally decided what I want to do.
After I write it, I will tie the stories together with both transitional passages and with poems. I think that is the best way to get some of my stories published. So Midvale will contain both my short stories, and poetry. My album I hope will contain liner notes that thanks everyone that is about to be involved. If you have any musical talent, or non-talent, let me know, I could probably use you in some way for the recording. I would like feedback on this idea... How about an album with the studio version and demo/live versions on a bonus disc? Would that be cool? Or too much? Let me know. Gobble Gobble everyone. I'm out.
