*Smiling* I don't think I have ever seen you this happy, let alone smile before.

*Eyeing him more closely* In fact, if I am not mistaken, you are positively giddy.

I'm just not accustomed to seeing you this way. Most of the time it seems you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.

This is a law firm, Denise. Serious business. Believe me, our standing in the legal community took a stumble after the pink flamingo fiasco. I'd wager you and I are on the same page. You conduct yourself professionally.

After some of the cases the firm took on, it seems more like monkey business. But I agree, we are on the same page...even at the risk of our careers.

Our careers are fine. You've been working the trenches for six years. Now you're up for partner. I liked your thinking in the Jose Pitino case. It was a gamble not to settle for 225, but your guts paid dividends.

Thanks. Jose deserved every penny and more. I will never forget the look on his face. It still chokes me up when I think about it.

Keep that in check, counselor. Displays of emotion are a weakness.

Hey. Been to church lately?

Been in my personnel file?

Thank you, Miss Hughes.

I've been into everyone's personnel file. You never know when you'll need to blackmail someone. I'm an assistant. That's my job.

Nope, you're good. But some other people around here . . .

Precisely. *glances up at the security camera* Documentation is everything.

You're right! *widens eyes and nods, looking suspiciously up at security camera too. Mission Impossible music begins playing in head*

"Agent Hughes, what have you got for me today?" "Well, Mr. Chase, I've got the documents you requested, but I think Mr. S. is on to us." They both put on dark glasses. "We'll meet tonight at the old windmill. The code word will be How Now -

*phone rings*

*rolls eyes* Stupid thing! I'm letting the machine get it. Why do people call during the holiday season??

*Brad still maintains Alan should have interviewed - but is kind of glad he didn't*

Because they need help.

*answers phone* "Crane, Poole & Schmidt, Brad Chase speaking. No. May I help you? Okay. That number is...?" *scribbles on paper, hangs up and stares at the message a moment, then hands it to Miss Hughes*

Here. I don't think there are enough characters in 1-800-LIZZIE.
