So, I went to Yuba City tonight to see my one of my friend Josh's favorite bands,, the questionably-named
Ten Falls Forth.. They were playing in a room, Holy Grounds, that's on the property of a Church- I'm sure, much like The Underground and Club Retro, although I've attended neither of these venues. I'm hoping that both of these places are laid out better then the goofy, dumpy hole in Yuba City. First of all, if you're going to have 200 kids packed into a room for a show----Have a stage! It's always nice when the patrons can actually see the band! Secondly, have sound that's at least listenable. When you have 4 emo-esque bands on the bill, I think the crowd would like to hear more than just bass and drums. I'm sure it was the first live show for most of the kids there, since the oldest person, other than Josh and I, seemed to be around 13 1/2 (at that age, dividing into halves is still cool). Sound for them probably wasn't a big issue. But it was bad. Very bad.
I think I liked a couple of the bands. I don't know. The bassist and drummer were smokin'. That's a good sign....
